No Synthetic Components
Because The LaLa is breathable, your baby benefits from the constant airflow, providing cool comfort and safety even while tummy sleeping! Many believe that SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is caused by the intolerance of a child to the reaction between the child's perspiration to synthetic components in a mattress. Eliminating exposure to toxins is important for all ages.
No Polyurethane Foams
Featuring a touch of Essentia's patented Beyond Latex™ organic foam the LaLa offers just enough cradling to add comfort and unobstructed blood flow. The organic latex support core provides spinal alignment, and stability and meets all standards for a firm crib mattress. You won't find any CertiPur foams pretending to be healthy. Essentia's foams are certified organic.
No Vinyl Waterproofing
The LaLa features a GOTS certified organic cotton cover with food-grade waterproofing integrated into the backing. The top of the cover can be easily unzipped fully and washed for easy cleanup. You can also add an extra layer of protection with our Stinky Pad crib mattress protector.
No Toxic Flame Retardants
Picking a non-toxic flame retardant that did not affect the performance of our mattresses was of utmost importance. This is why we use Kevlar fabric. While it is the most expensive flame retardant option, it allows us to use a non-toxic fabric that does not go against our Beyond Organic values.

Proven to Be Allergy Free
You never have to worry about the beds bugs biting! Tested by Dr. Robert G Hamilton of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Essentia mattresses are impervious to dust mites and other critters. We also don't use any wool or fiber batting that may be a nesting ground!
Worried about latex allergies? Don't be! We remove the latex proteins that can trigger allergies and as reported by Dr. Hamilton, you cannot develop a latex allergy by sleeping on an Essentia. So you rest assured knowing your child is on an allergy free mattress.
Baby Sleeps, You Sleep
To avoid sleep interruptions an organic crib mattress must address the following elements: blood flow, pressure relief, spinal alignment, and body temperature.
The LaLa organic crib mattress ensures that your baby experiences these four elements which are essential for your baby to have a good night's sleep. Sleep interruptions also occur when the central nervous system is stimulated via exposure to synthetic foams and chemically treated fabrics.
